Everyone needs to read this. I have given up talking to some of my loved ones about anything but family matters because they have become enthralled to the liars in the media. And you're right. It is like they are hypnotized. Otherwise intelligent people parrot the most patently absurd propaganda points from the media/government and take offense if one does not agree with them.

I am working on a post where I am planning to share the TED talk by Megan you recommended as well as linking to this post. In the process of tracking this article down, I discovered you were showing as "blocked" by me! Of course, I never-ever would have blocked you (I've only blocked a few people, all spammers or security threats). I have no idea how that occurred but find it disconcerting that it could have happened without my knowledge. I had to resubscribe to your Substack and noticed you have been unsubbed from mine. I just wanted to give you a heads-up in case you'd like to resubscribe. Thanks, streamfortyseven!

I was able to resubscribe with no difficulty. Incidentally, the same thing happened with Mark Crispin Miller - I came up as "blocked" by him - and I can neither read his Substack nor communicate with him, at least via Substack. And a friend in California told me a week ago that he hadn't seen a single post from me in over a year - and in the Activity tab on his profile, it listed all of those posts as "received" ... So there's something funny going on with Substack, it's not as free and open as it pretends to be, the shadowbanning takes place here, too. And probably the old algorithmic manipulation, too, for that matter. Big Tech has a definite point of view, and it manages "connections" between people for the purposes of those who own it.

I notice I didn't cover those "two more points which are very important" - tomorrow never came... I'll have a shot at them today and finish off the posting.

Finally, just spoke with a friend just back from NYC, where she'd gone to be with her family for Christmas - about ten people. I think all of them are completely vaccinated and boosted, some with five or six shots... They all got sick and stayed sick the entire time, with "flu" and "COVID" and "RSV". Absent cell cultures or rapid antigen tests there's no way to really tell, but they got sick and stayed sick. Her ill effects seemed to be short-lived but she takes zinc and quercetin daily, as for the rest, it's the usual OTC stuff. They're all avid listeners to NPR, from first thing in the morning until they go to bed at night - and they've totally been sucked in by that narrative and repeat the same talking points. Saturation with NPR is just as effective as TV in the enthrallment process, it seems.

I’m glad you were able to resubscribe. I’m relieved it wasn’t anything I did, but how unnerving that this appears to have occurred at a system level! As far as I know, you haven’t written anything exceptionally controversial—at least in comparison to other Substack dissidents—so I don’t see why you would have been targeted if it was intentional.

I have only seen Substack automatically block users two other times, and in both instances, they were spamming Notes like crazy and including links to their salacious or virulently anti-semitic content.

It might be worth reaching out to Substack support to see if your account was inadvertently tagged as a spammer and to ask if they can rectify any remaining blocks.

Glad to hear you plan to work on a post with those two important points :-)

So sorry to hear about your friend’s NPR’ed family—in a way, NPR is worse than television because its listeners delude themselves into thinking they’re intellectuals who are superior to run-of-the-mill television-watchers and would never even consider they themselves are brainwashed.
