So much corruption and incompetence - the Constitution guarantees that each state will have a "republican form of government" - and crooked banana republics aren't models of republicanism...
So much devastation. Will California democrats wake up now? I doubt it. As far as I can determine, California is being carved away from the United States. California's rulers are essentially seceding from the US and creating their own fiefdom. They've kicked out the mostly-white middle class and are importing a peasant class from the third world. The elites will live in gated communities in the heights and rule from above.
Yes. True. I worked and lived for 28 years in the Bay Area, in tech. Then I retired up into the Sierras. Up there it was, like you say, a different country. Most of the residents deplored Sacramento and the sexphreaks and commies that ran the legislature. Now I'm in Nevada along with millions of other CA migrants, forced out by CA idiot policies.

Except that California isn't united in any real sense of the term - there are at least two very different states, one coastal, one inland - and the inland state is very much Old West rural culture - and very conservative - and denied any sort of meaningful representation in Sacramento - https://www.foxnews.com/us/rural-towns-push-divorce-big-cities-form-new-conservative-state. Here's the New California State website - https://www.newcaliforniastate.com/ - it may have as much legitimacy as The Emperor Norton in old San Francisco - https://emperornortontrust.org/emperor/life - or it may be more serious...
