What Happens When Police And Governments Bully People And It Becomes Intolerable
Policing only works when the majority of people give their consent to it. When people get the firm idea that their government is an existential threat - when they see their lives at risk, this happens
The reason that it’s a dark day is that it’s the first break in the dam, this is what happens when people stop believing that their government represents them, and start thinking that their government is an intolerable imposition on them. This is what happens when the government becomes a lethal enemy. The answer is, is that there are a lot more people than police. And there are a lot more people than army troops, too. It goes one of two ways, if the people continue their resistance - the government backs down and significantly moderates its position, or they double down, and wind up like Northern Ireland during the “Troubles” - or like Romania in its revolution…
"Our ancestors believed that the greatest threat to people’s freedom and well-being lay not with some foreign danger but rather with their very own government. They understood that historically the way that governments enslaved and controlled their citizenry was through a powerful military. Whenever the citizenry had to be “put into line,” the military would be there to do the job. Our ancestors understood that soldiers obey orders. When they are ordered to establish “order,” they can be counted on to do so. Consider the words of Henry St. George Tucker in Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England: “Wherever standing armies are kept up, and when the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.”" https://www.fff.org/2021/06/23/why-a-standing-army-and-a-welfare-state/
The Australian people voluntarily gave up their arms five years ago. Things there have gotten worse ever since, and it is no surprise. The quickest way to Hell on earth is to give one group of people absolute power over another.
Is is a dark day because Aussie’s had to resort to physical non-compliance against their fascist law enforcement, or because their rulers and the “ruler’s army” (law enforcement) became fascists? Or, both?
