That New Protease Inhibitor That Pfizer Is Looking At
Works surprisingly like Ivermectin - but it's patentable. Isn't that an odd coincidence? I've included a video from Marcia Angell MD, the former editor of the New England Journal of Medicine...
“Interaction of ivermectin with SARS-CoV-2 main protease
After checking the interaction with spike protein, we examined the efficacy of ivermectin against the main viral protease. The results of molecular docking following protein–ligand interaction are given in Figure 1B and Table 1. We have documented an intense binding of both ivermectin B1a and B1b isomer to the main protease with subsequent energy (ETot-) values of -384.56 and -408.6. To explore the interacting residues from the target, a docked complex comprising protease and ivermectin was analyzed by PLIP tool. It was observed that Pro108, Phe134, Thr198, Pro241 and Thr243 residues from SARS-CoV-2 protease were involved in forming hydrophobic interactions with ivermectin, while the Gln107 was involved in hydrogen bonding with the ligand element – the B1B homolog (Figure 1B & Table 1)” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7996102/
And look at this -
”In-vitro studies conducted to date show that the clinical candidate PF-07321332 is a potent protease inhibitor with potent anti-viral activity against SARS-CoV-2
This is the first orally administered coronavirus-specific investigational protease inhibitor to be evaluated in clinical studies, and follows Pfizer’s intravenously administered investigational protease inhibitor, which is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1b multi-dose study in hospitalized clinical trial participants with COVID-19
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) announced today that it is progressing to multiple ascending doses after completing the dosing of single ascending doses in a Phase 1 study in healthy adults to evaluate the safety and tolerability of an investigational, novel oral antiviral therapeutic for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. This Phase 1 trial is being conducted in the United States. The oral antiviral clinical candidate PF-07321332, a SARS-CoV2-3CL protease inhibitor, has demonstrated potent in vitro anti-viral activity against SARS-CoV-2, as well as activity against other coronaviruses, suggesting potential for use in the treatment of COVID-19 as well as potential use to address future coronavirus threats.
“Tackling the COVID-19 pandemic requires both prevention via vaccine and targeted treatment for those who contract the virus. Given the way that SARS-CoV-2 is mutating and the continued global impact of COVID-19, it appears likely that it will be critical to have access to therapeutic options both now and beyond the pandemic,” said Mikael Dolsten, MD, PhD., Chief Scientific Officer and President, Worldwide Research, Development and Medical of Pfizer. “We have designed PF-07321332 as a potential oral therapy that could be prescribed at the first sign of infection, without requiring that patients are hospitalized or in critical care. At the same time, Pfizer’s intravenous antiviral candidate is a potential novel treatment option for hospitalized patients. Together, the two have the potential to create an end to end treatment paradigm that complements vaccination in cases where disease still occurs.”
Protease inhibitors bind to a viral enzyme (called a protease), preventing the virus from replicating in the cell. Protease inhibitors have been effective at treating other viral pathogens such as HIV and hepatitis C virus, both alone and in combination with other antivirals. Currently marketed therapeutics that target viral proteases are not generally associated with toxicity and as such, this class of molecules may potentially provide well-tolerated treatments against COVID-19.” https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-initiates-phase-1-study-novel-oral-antiviral
This drug, just like Ivermectin, is to be used in the early stages of infection… The news stories which we’ve all been seeing lately, put down Ivermectin as “horse de-wormer” - the same line that you hear from Democrats, the “Left”, and the rest of the Establishment. They’ve somehow forgotten that the discoverer of Ivermectin got the Nobel Prize in the 1980s for his discovery, used in the treatment and prevention of river blindness in humans in West Africa where entire villages had been struck blind - by no means is it strictly a “horse de-wormer”.
Here’s Fauci in an interview on these “new” antiviral drugs, to be given, just like Ivermectin, oddly enough, in the first week of infection:
”What are the goals of the Antiviral Program for Pandemics?
There are two components to the program: accelerating clinical testing of promising antivirals that are already in various stages of the development pipeline and expanding the basic science and knowledge needed to discover new antiviral medicines. The primary mover is COVID. But if the APP is successful—and I believe it will be—then it can be directed at any virus of pandemic potential. It will require us to develop the sorts of strong public-private partnerships that allowed us to successfully develop antivirals for HIV and hepatitis C. The important thing to remember is that if you can block an acute viral pathogen in the early stage of infection, then you can avoid progression to the advanced stage of disease.” https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fauci-on-covid-drugs-vaccines-and-getting-back-to-normal1/
Except we don’t need new drugs when a very effective old off-patent - and extremely cheap, as in $5.00 for an entire course of treatment - drug already exists and has been used with great success in the current epidemic in other countries like Mexico. The “public-private partnerships” that Fauci is talking about - that’s another name for corruption - the government colluding with private corporations to coerce the public into giving over still more of its money. And this is nothing new for the CDC, FDA, and companies like Pfizer and Merck, they roll the public on a regular basis for crooked stuff like this, as Marcia Angell MD explains:
So it’s going to be interesting to see how governments, media, and their willing paid shills in the Democratic Party sell this “new” drug. And watch as the usual useful idiots elsewhere change direction like a school of fish as soon as they’re told to do so by the media - and Pfizer rakes in the billions in profits. (h/t Jeff Vaughn)
I personally find the use of the horse dewormer to be quite effective, thank you.
