"Department of Government Efficiency"? Give Me A Break - This Isn't Even Official, It's A "Private Initiative" By People Stuck Far Up Into The Deep State
They're asking for people to work "80+ hours per week with no pay" and asking for CVs to be sent to a social media account. Yeah, right. The people who do this are going to get paid by someone else...
To apply to work for the “Department of Government Efficiency”, you have to submit your CV using Twitter, which means you have to have a Twitter account, which means that you’re going to be a target for Social Network Analysis (more on that below). So Elon will be able to find out more about you than you could possibly supply on a CV. He could just do a social network analysis on your username(s) - easily found from the IP addresses linked to those names, and do network analysis of all activity from logins to postings to your connections. In fact, all you need to do would be to send a tweet with no content to the anonymous Twitter account used for applications to “DoGE”, and the rest could be generated within milliseconds - no need for you to bother with anything else, not even a cover letter…
DoGE is looking for people to “work for 80+ hours per week, at no pay, with super-high IQ” in an effort to change this:
Obviously, if you have an above-room-temperature IQ, you’re not going to waste time and “80+ hours per week at no pay” on this, because it just isn’t serious, it’s a joke, especially since the main proponent is definitely a full-fledged member of the Amorphous Anonymous Blob that is the Actual and Permanent Government of the United States. If you really want to cut off the part of government that is useless, dangerous, or both, you just need to cut out the parts that are in violation of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution - abolish them, stop the money, and send the employees packing. Those parts and pieces are well-known, even if classified and paid for in the “black budget” - in fact, if the “black budget” is their source of funding, that agency is prima facie unconstitutional and illegal:
“A corporatized, militarized, entrenched bureaucracy that is fully operational and staffed by unelected officials who are, in essence, running the country, this shadow government represents the hidden face of a government that has no respect for the freedom of its citizenry.
No matter which candidate wins the presidential election, this shadow government is here to stay. Indeed, as recent documents by the FBI reveal, this shadow government—also referred to as “The 7th Floor Group”—may well have played a part in who will win the White House this year.
To be precise, however, the future president will actually inherit not one but two shadow governments.
The first shadow government, referred to as COG or Continuity of Government, is made up of unelected individuals who have been appointed to run the government in the event of a “catastrophe.” COG is a phantom menace waiting for the right circumstances—a terrorist attack, a natural disaster, an economic meltdown—to bring it out of the shadows, where it operates even now. When and if COG takes over, the police state will transition to martial law.
Yet it is the second shadow government—also referred to as the Deep State—that poses the greater threat to freedom right now. Comprised of unelected government bureaucrats, corporations, contractors, paper-pushers, and button-pushers who are actually calling the shots behind the scenes, this government within a government is the real reason “we the people” have no real control over our government.
The Deep State, which “operates according to its own compass heading regardless of who is formally in power,” makes a mockery of elections and the entire concept of a representative government.” https://tenthamendmentcenter.com/2016/10/30/deep-state-americas-shadow-government-and-its-silent-coup/
For more details, listen to this:
So it’s simple - to restore efficiency to government, remove all parts of the government which are in violation of the Tenth Amendment, including the Regulatory State, the Deep State, the Military Industrial Complex, the Censorship Industrial Complex, the Surveillance Industrial Complex, and the Intelligence Community, and the like, and stop their pay and benefits. They will go away and find something else to do, just like their counterparts in the Communist Bloc governments of Eastern Europe did back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, due to the collapse of those systems of governance, for the same reasons that will eventually cause the collapse of the US government. We can either collapse gracefully and in a somewhat organized manner, or all at once, like the Soviet Union, where Soviet Air Force officers were selling off fighter jets in order to get enough money to eat - or losing them in poker games…
Good luck to Elon and his DoGE - pro tip: try not to name something after an oxymoron, a contradiction in terms.

So that looks an awful lot like the Censorship Industrial Complex - it’s definitely part of the Blob, as is SpaceX:
“Consortium Membership(s)
SOSSEC
Company Designations
Company Capabilities
Cyber Defense
Cyberspace Operations
IED Detection & Neutralization
Intelligence Exposure”
So the “rockets to Mars” bit isn’t all of what SpaceX does, it looks like they get up into a lot of different stuff. Of course, like all of the Blob, they aren’t accessible to the public, they’re anonymous and faceless, beyond the usual PR hacks. And social media networks were designed for intelligence collection and analysis, going back to the beginning, when DARPA gave start-up support to Facebook, Twitter, and the like - it’s all part of Total Information Awareness:
“In November 2002, the New York Times reported that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) was developing a tracking system called "Total Information Awareness" (TIA), which was intended to detect terrorists through analyzing troves of information. The system, developed under the direction of John Poindexter, then-director of DARPA's Information Awareness Office, was envisioned to give law enforcement access to private data without suspicion of wrongdoing or a warrant.
TIA purported to capture the "information signature" of people so that the government could track potential terrorists and criminals involved in "low-intensity/low-density" forms of warfare and crime. The goal was to track individuals through collecting as much information about them as possible and using computer algorithms and human analysis to detect potential activity.
The project called for the development of "revolutionary technology for ultra-large all-source information repositories," which would contain information from multiple sources to create a "virtual, centralized, grand database." This database would be populated by transaction data contained in current databases such as financial records, medical records, communication records, and travel records as well as new sources of information. Also fed into the database would be intelligence data.
A key component of the TIA project was to develop data-mining or knowledge discovery tools that would sort through the massive amounts of information to find patterns and associations. TIA would also develop search tools such as Project Genoa, which Admiral Poindexter's former employer Syntek Technologies assisted in developing. TIA aimed to fund the development of more such tools and data-mining technology to help analysts understand and even "preempt" future action.
A further crucial component was the development of biometric technology to enable the identification and tracking of individuals. DARPA had already funded its "Human ID at a Distance" program, which aimed to positively identify people from a distance through technologies such as face recognition or gait recognition. A nationwide identification system would have been of great assistance to such a project by providing an easy means to track individuals across multiple information sources.” https://archive.epic.org/privacy/profiling/tia/#introduction
Facebook has long been a source for and target of Social Network Analysis:
“Social Network Analysis (SNA) is a technique for modeling the communication patterns between individuals in a way that illuminates the structure of the network and the importance of individuals within the network. SNA has gained a recent importance due to the appearance of various web 2.0 platforms like blogs, wikis, content and media sharing sites which consists of a huge collection of data. These data are vast, noisy, unstructured and dynamic in nature, so mining is performed on such data by various SNA methods and tools in order to extract actionable patterns which are useful for business, consumers, and users. This study is a part of the growing body of research on Social Network Analysis and uncovers hidden relationships in a facebook network. It gives a prospective view of the hidden attributes of the high degree nodes (users having greater number of friends) in the Facebook network. Results show that there is little association among high degree nodes.” https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/6658034
This is from 2013 - 11 years ago… And it has been going on with Twitter for at least just as long:
“Twitter,Footnote2 a social network created in 2006, is a place dedicated to personal expression that brings together hundreds of millions of users around its minimalist concept of microblogging. Its messages of 140 characters and its principle of “following” users without mandatory reciprocity, coupled to a very open application programming interface (API), make it an ideal medium for the study of online behaviour. Its simplicity makes it a frequently used tool to report current events. Hence, many studies analysing the diffusion of information consecutive to an event: an earthquake (Sakaki, Okazaki, & Matsuo, Citation2010), demonstrations such as the London riots (Beguerisse-Diaz, Garduno-Hernandez, Vangelov, Yaliraki, & Barahona, Citation2014; Casilli & Tubaro, Citation2012), international conferences (Grandjean & Rochat, Citation2014; Jussila, Huhtamaki, Henttonen, Karkkainen, & Still, Citation2014), teachings (Stepanyan, Borau, & Ullrich, Citation2010) or interactions on neutral corpus (Darmon, Omodei, & Garland, Citation2015). These “dynamic” analyses, which typically map networks of tweets, mentions and retweets out, owe their popularity to the availability of the material and the possibility for researchers to analyse its contents. They frequently lead to questions on influence measuring (Subbian & Melville, Citation2011; Suh, Hong, Piroll, & Chi, Citation2010), especially when it comes to political communication (Stieglitz & Dang-Xuan, Citation2012; Vainikka & Huhtamäki, Citation2015) or scientometry (Haustein, Peters, Sugimoto, Thelwall, & Larivière, Citation2014).
But when it becomes clear that the content of a user’s tweets is not always indicative of his field of specialisation—due to the noise produced by the many personal messages, jokes, politics, etc.—we need to turn to a network whose structure seems more readily analysable in terms of “community”: the follow graph (Myers, Sharma, Gupta, & Lin, Citation2014).” https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/23311983.2016.1171458#d1e179
So there’s a dark side to social media far beyond psychological experimentation and manipulation - both of which I’ve written about in earlier posts - intelligence gathering and analysis. That information you give up for free when you post to social media gets used by the Blob…
Most of this stuff is over my pay grade (delving into Space X etc) but my working theory is that anyone who is a billionaire, except possibly the real estate ones, are up to their eyeballs in government contracting probably in ways that avoid official (such as Congressional) oversight which is why they end up so individually wealthy. But I don't live in that world so am only guessing.
That said, the current paradigm, at least in the US if not the larger West, is clearly unsustainable. Musk says he has a vision of expanding humanity to Mars and other planets. I am not convinced he truly believes this or is just parading it as his ideological logo/logos. But the Aenean ethos behind it I think he does embrace. He is enthused describing how everyone will have an Optimus robot soon and how there will be more robots than humans at some point. He is frustrated by government red tape which is both excessive and based in nineteenth century paradigms. I believe he genuinely wants to help push the world into a twenty first century Brave New future and to do this he has bought Twitter and is now driving DOGE which, if successful, will end up cutting back much of the sludge and excess so that he can better move forward with this paradigm-shifting thrust.
In other words, although there are darker skeins in the mix as you well point out, there are also genuine agendas as well (leaving aside the issue as to whether or not pushing to go to Mars isn't lunacy - pun intended!).
Speaking of paradigms, you might enjoy The Manifesto for a European Rennaissance by Alain de Benoist, a 26 page pamphlet essentially laying out the author's vision for how France and Europe might adopt Dugin's Fourth Political Theory. Dugin's Dad was in Russian Intelligence, so ..., but this interview with his daughter from a few years ago before she was sadly blown up is interesting too: https://alexanderdugin.substack.com/p/we-live-in-the-era-of-the-end-an
This is a very different vision from Elon's, I suspect, far more rooted in traditions with an emphasis on rediscovering the sacred within various ethno-geographical cultural strains, but I have a feeling Elon is fine with cultural diversity as long as he gets to build rockets and robots.
Yes. I agree that the 10th Amendment approach sort of cuts to the chase. How gratifying would that be! Then they could go back and follow up on some of the absurd and/or nastier strings of corruption and graft that are revealed by a thorough a 10th Amendment wipe.
